[Reel Pizza] Reminders & Update Mar 13 - 19

Hi
Drip, drip, drip... a sound so lovely to my ears!  Time to tap, if you can get to your trees!

Two reminders for the remainder of this week.
1.)  Tonight Wednesday, there is NO early show of KINGSMAN due to the special Pecha Kucha event at 5:30.  There will be a later show of KINGSMAN at 8:30.
2.)  Tomorrow Thursday, despite whatever else you may have seen, read or heard, the Senior Matinee is ANTARCTICA: A Year on Ice at 1pm.

No special events here at Reel Pizza this weekend for the first time in a long while;  Good luck to our HS Jazz bands going to play at the State Competition in South Portland this weekend!

See you soon.

Here is the upcoming week's schedule:
3/13 - 3/19    BLACK SEA  (R)  115min  6:00 and 8:30
3/13 - 3/16    BIG EYES  (PG-13)  106min  5:30 and 8:00
3/17 - 3/19    BLACK OR WHITE  (PG-13)  121min  5:30 and 8:00

Fri 3/13 - Thurs 3/19
BLACK SEA  (R)  115min  6:00 and 8:30
This suspenseful action thriller, well-directed by Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland) centers on a laid-off Scottish salvage submarine captain (Jude Law) who pulls together a misfit crew of half Brits, including an excellent Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom) as the master diver, and half Russians to go after a sunken Nazi treasure reputed to be lost in the depths of the Black Sea off Crimea.  As greed and desperation take control on their claustrophobic and perhaps unseaworthy vessel, these men turn on each other to fight for their own survival.  trailer

Fri 3/13 - Mon 3/16
BIG EYES  (PG-13)  106min  5:30 and 8:00
Director Tim Burton (Ed Wood) explores another kitschy artist with his entertaining, fascinating and funny film of this stranger than fiction true story.  The popular but also wildly reviled art style of waif-like children with extra-large eyes from the 1950s and 1960s made charming artist Walter Keane (Christoph Waltz) one of that eras most successful painters, until it eventually came out that in fact the works had all been made by his lonely, cloistered wife Margaret (Amy Adams) and Walter was in fact just a con artist who took credit and gained international fame with his wife's work.   trailer

Tues 3/17 - Thurs 3/19
BLACK OR WHITE  (PG-13)  121min  5:30 and 8:00
Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer give excellent performances in this story of a custody battle for an interracial child.  The maternal grandfather, a well-to-do retiree, has been raising this beloved little girl with his wife after the death during childbirth of his daughter.  When his wife suddenly dies and he is left to care for her alone, the girl's paternal grandmother, a successful realtor in an impoverished area, seeks custody to raise her with her father's people, although he has never had a relationship with her.  This provocative, relevant and thoughtful film shows both the frustration and insight into the racial conundrum.  trailer
