Tonight is the final evening of MIFF By-the-Sea; big thanks to everyone
who has participated in any way with this wonderful weekend.
Tomorrow, we start Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Dancy in HYSTERIA (R) at
6:00 and 8:15, and a "back by popular demand" booking of MOONRISE
KINGDOM (PG-13) at 5:30 and 7:45. This schedule plays thru Thursday.
Starting Friday we continue MOONRISE KINGDOM at 5:30 and 7:45 (which
will play thru Monday) and start Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis in
THE CAMPAIGN (R) at 6:00 and 8:15 (thru Thursday). Next Tues to Thursday
we play this year's MIFF Audience Award winning film, and the directing
debut of French star Daniel Auteuil, THE WELL-DIGGER'S DAUGHTER (NR) at
5:30 and 8:00.
We also are participating in THE ACADIA DARK SKY FESTIVAL. Chris will
be screening a family-friendly outdoor movie (Frog and Pig rescue
Monster....in outer space) on the Village Green starting around 7pm on
Friday evening. On Saturday afternoon at 3pm we are screening UFO
sighting film CONTACT HAS BEGUN ($3 admission for adults), and will
welcome the producer at the screening. Sunday afternoon is the next
film in the SIERRA CLUB SUMMER ENVIRONMENTAL FILM SERIES; the acclaimed
documentary THE CITY DARK will screen for free at 2pm followed by a
discussion with Brandi Smith, a doctoral student who has been working
with Acadia on the nighttime visitor experience.
