[Reel Pizza] update

hi everyone

This update is going to start with some corrections and omissions from the
last email of the full schedule, as well as the schedule of films starting
this week.

First, on Thursday May 21, we will only be showing THE SOLOIST at 6:00.
We will not have a later screening of THE SOLOIST on Thursday; instead at
8:15 we will be showing the brand new TERMINATOR SALVATION (PG-13).
Remember that tickets for any of the evening's shows can be purchased at
the boxoffice when we open at 4:30pm.

Second, I totally forgot to mention that IMPROVISION, our very popular
late night programming that we began last summer is returning! Our first
night of IMPROVISION this year will be Friday June 5th. What is
IMPROVISION you may ask? We have combined forces with the wonderful folks
at IMPROV-ACADIA who bring their talented crew over to Reel Pizza to watch
a wacky movie they know nothing about. After first selecting a random
genre to guide their story, we turn off the sound, start the film, and
they go to work, providing a soundtrack, the dialogue and all the sound
effects for the action, making the film into something much more, and way
funnier than was ever intended originally. We will be featuring
IMPROVISION on June 5th and June 19th to start, and then continue on a
regular basis through July and August and into September. I will get back
to you on the starting time next week. And stay tuned for more late-night
programming coming in the near future.

Third, we will be showing NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN
(PG) starting on Friday May 29th. This is a new booking since we went to
press and was not included on the paper schedule. Feel free to spread the
word!

And finally, next Wednesday May 27th is the opening day of the Bar Harbor
Green Market in the Reel Pizza parking lot. Please check our website
(under special events) for a list of vendors and their wares, and be sure
to join us between 9am and 1pm. See you then!

And, of course, this week's films:

Thursday May 21
EVERLASTING MOMENTS (NR) 5:30 and 8:00
THE SOLOIST (PG-13) 6:00 only
TERMINATOR SALVATION (PG-13) 8:15 only (this showtime for 5/21 only!)

Friday May 22 - Thursday May 28
TERMINATOR SALVATION (PG-13) 115min 6:00 and 8:30
This brand new installment of the popular series stars Christian Bale (The
Dark Knight) as John Connor. Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, he is fated to
lead the surviving human resistance against the final onslaught of the
evil Skynet and its army of Terminators who are trying to destroy mankind.
But the appearance of a stranger, Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), whose
last memory is of being on death row, alters his paradigm. Is this
newcomer sent from the future or has he been rescued from the past? As
they infiltrate the heart of Skynet's operations, they uncover a terrible
secret. McG (Charlies Angels) directs.

Friday May 22 - Monday May 25
EARTH (G) 96min 5:30 and 7:45
Combining rare action, unimaginable scale and impossible locations while
capturing the most intimate moments of our planet's wildest and most
elusive creatures, this first film from Disneynature tells the remarkable
stories of three animal families and their amazing journeys across our
planet. The creative team behind the "Planet Earth" series follows polar
bears in the Arctic, elephants in Africa's Kalahari Desert, and humpback
whales in the southern ocean. Additionally the filmmakers encounter other
creatures, caribou, grey wolves, lions, cheetahs, great white sharks,
baboons, and mandarin ducks among others. The spectacular footage
combined with a vital ecological message makes for a provocative,
transfixing film for all.

Tuesday May 26 - Thursday May 28
SHALL WE KISS? (NR) 96min [in FRENCH with subtitles] 5:30 and 8:00 Wry,
observant and touching, this discreet French farce in the style of Woody
Allen from director Emmanuel Mouret explores the ramifications from an
innocent kiss. Gabriel and Emilie meet by chance while on a business
trip, and they spend a delightful evening together. Although they both
have significant others at home, they are both attracted to each other.
However at the end of the evening, when Gabriel leans over to give her a
casual kiss goodbye, she declines, saying a kiss always has consequences,
and tells a story of two friends whose one indulgent kiss had significant
and unexpected results.

Starting Friday May 29th - Thursday June 4
NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM (PG) show times to be announced.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend! See you at the movies!

-Lisa and Chris
