Fri Dec 31 - Thurs Jan 6
THE SOCIAL NETWORK (PG-13)  120min    6:00 and 8:30
Director David Fincher (Fight Club, Zodiac) teams up with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) making a critically acclaimed, resonant and mesmerizing dramatization about the beginnings of the internet phenomenon known as Facebook, and the legal and personal repercussions that grew along with the businesss popularity and profitability.  The story begins with geeky Harvard sophomore Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg, Adventureland) reeling from a date with his girlfriend where she calls him not-so-nice names and breaks up with him.  His revengeful reaction to this rejection leads him to create an imaginary world where anyone can have the illusion of a relationship, even someone with no social skills.  He is financially assisted by his only friend (Andrew Garfield) only to leave him behind for the advice of Napsters creator (Justin Timberlake) as the venture thrives.

Friday Dec 31 - Mon Jan 3
MEGAMIND  (PG)  96min  [in 2D]   5:30 and 7:45
This delightful, smart and funny animated film from Madagascar director Tom McGrath turns the superhero story on its head.  Bulbous blue-headed Megamind (Will Ferrell), a brilliantly evil super-villain, wants to conquer Metro City, yet he always is defeated by his virtuous, do-gooder nemesis (who has much better hair) Metro Man (Brad Pitt).  That is, until the one day when Megamind prevails, Metroman disappears in a poof of smoke, and he is left without an adversary.  Dreadfully bored now, he uses his powers to create another opponent named Titan/Tighten (Jonah Hill), but unfortunately for him, the new superhero is not a hero at all but a worse villain than Megamind who wreaks havoc on Metro City, plus they are fighting over the same girl (Tina Fey).  Will Megamind have to become a good guy and save the day?

Tues Jan 4 - Thurs Jan 6
THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNETS NEST  (R)  148min  [in SWEDISH with subtitles]    5:15 and 8:15
This rewarding final installment of the thrilling, thought-provoking and best-selling trilogy by Stieg Larsson picks up right where the The Girl Who Played With Fire ended.  In this fast-moving conspiracy story Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist reprise their roles as brooding, punk cyber-hacker Lisbeth Salander and her unlikely defender, investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist.  She is confined to hospital bed with three bullets lodged in her thanks to her estranged father, while facing attempted murder charges.  He is trying to sort out who is behind the plot to eliminate her while his sister lawyer prepares her defense and Lisbeth prepares her revenge.
