DRAFT DAY (PG-13) 110min
Kevin Costner plays Sonny Weaver, the fictional, beleaguered general manager of the Cleveland Browns on the day of the NFL Draft as his personal and professional worlds collide. His day starts with a revelation, that his secret lover and employee (Jennifer Garner) is pregnant. He also must decide whom to pick out of this year’s pool of recruits including a hotshot QB, an ace defensive linebacker and a star running back whose dad used to play for the team; his choice is unclear and fraught with suspense, especially as his job depends on it. His head coach (Denis Leary) and the team’s owner (Frank Langella) both have their opinions on what should happen, and even his mom (Ellen Burstyn) is bugging him. This is an enjoyable, funny comedy from director Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Stripes, No Strings Attached). Trailer

FINDING VIVIAN MAIER (NR) 84 min 5:30 & 7:30
In 2007, an amateur Chicago historian, John Maloof, purchased a box at auction full of undeveloped film and negatives. When he looked at what he’d bought, he discovered a fantastic trove of thousands of photographs of Chicago’s people and neighborhoods from the 1950s into the 1990s, taken by a woman named Vivian Maier. Intrigued, he started to investigate this unknown artist, whose work is now compared to Diane Arbus, Weegee, and Dorothea Lange. He learned she was a reclusive nanny to wealthy Chicagoans, including Phil Donahue, and rarely even printed her work. Maloof and Charlie Siskel have made a striking documentary on discovering this mysterious woman’s strange and riveting life and art. Trailer
